A quick, fun, action packed piece highlighting the cultural topic of heroic women standing together in empowerment.

Superhero Academy follows the story of 'Lightheart' a novice superhero out on her first patrol. She encounters the menacingly powerful super-villain 'Dark Thunder'. When all hope is lost she is rescued by her mentor 'Psyonika'. Together they stand and fight.

In a team of four I took on the main roles of Pre-Viz Coordinator and Animation lead. Together in thirteen weeks we modeled, textured, rigged and animated the whole piece and rendered and composited it complete with VFX and SFX.

This vibrant and punchy piece features the use of Maya 2019's Toonshader. We were inspired by the recent release of Sony Animations 'Into the Spider-verse' film's look.

My main goal during the production this project was to keep giving my team vision of scene composition and shot timing. Over the project schedule I released a dozen pre-viz versions as the project progressed. I lead the way with polishing animation iterations and planning our final delivery.
